How the ‘Breaking Dawn’ Finale Plot Twist Came to Be

If you’ve already seen Breaking Dawn Part 2, you know that the ending is much different than the original book!

The Hollywood Reporter talked to Stephenie Meyer, Melissa Rosenberg, and Bill Condon about how Stephenie came up with the new ending (over a steak dinner in Vancouver!) and what it means for the final film.

Here’s Melissa Roseberg’s account:

“[Meyer], at the time, was debating whether or not she wanted the fourth book to be a movie because she was concerned that the ending in the book climaxes at a very tense conversation, which was beautiful in the book — but for film, that’s not going to fly,” she continues. “We started batting around ideas and then we both had this idea at the same. I think she may have mentioned something first, ‘OK, this may be stupid, but what about this?’ And I was like, ‘What about that!’ And it was one of those moments; the light bulb came on, and we both suddenly got incredibly excited about it. That was it, we were both on board.”

Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed performances from Breaking Dawn Part 2 Fan Camp

The final fan camp was definitely a weekend to remember.  I was lucky enough to meet Stephenie Meyer in person and get a personalized autograph from her.  I really didn’t know what to say at that moment because they only give you a few moments with her, but it was still nice to actually meet her.  She is truly a lovely woman.

I did state before there was a concert that included Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed, and I was able to record their performance on my phone.  Obviously, it’s not the best recording since I’m too far away from the stage to get a good visual on them, but you should be able to hear the songs well enough.
The first song was performed solo by Nikki, which she stated she was very, very nervous about.  I can say that I was impressed, really.  She already has a beautiful speaking voice, so it should be no surprise that she has a beautiful singing voice as well.

The second song, I believe, is part of the Breaking Dawn Part 2 soundtrack, title “All I’ve Ever Needed.”

New Trailer for The Host

Along with the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 comes the trailer for another novel by beloved Twilight author Stephenie Meyer: The Host!

Meyer wrote The Host shortly after the Twilight series and it gained plenty of praise based on its original plot before being optioned as a film.

Judging by the trailer, the film will be gritty and intense! We can’t wait!

Pictures from Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere Night

The black carpet scene is as crazy and wild as you’d imagine it to be for the Twilight Saga.  Unfortunately, a little too crazy at times as someone told me that someone got knocked off her wheelchair in the handicap section (please, if you go to a premiere event, try to be respectable to those around you and not push and shove!)  Being that I am quite short and that I wasn’t in the front row, these pictures were as good as I could get.  I missed some people when they got close enough, including the main three, but I think there are enough pictures of them everywhere anyway, right?

Pictures from the Breaking Dawn 2 Premiere Weekend Concert

I got to spend the weekend at the Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere fan camp, and we were treated to a concert that was MC’d by Jasper Hale himself, Jackson Rathbone.  The performers were A Boy and His Kite, Paul McDonald and Nikki Reed, Anya Marina, and Christina Perri, who headlined the concert.
