Ashley Greene is going to play a human haunted by a ghost! Yes, it’s a horror movie, so no, she doesn’t try to be a ghost herself to live a happy ghostly life with her one true love. The thing about horror movies is that you try not to have it compete with any really big films if you want it to be semi-successful, unless the film has a really original storyline, in which case there aren’t a lot of horror movies that do (a rarity would be something like “Cabin in the Woods,” one that actually teases the audience with many cliche horror stories to give us one great unique, funny, and crazy horror of a ride).
Anyway, here’s the synopsis of The Apparition from the Dread Central website, starring Ashley Green and some other people you may recognize:
When frightening events start to occur in their home, young couple Kelly (Ashley Greene) and Ben (Sebastian Stan) discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment. The horrifying apparition feeds on their fear and torments them no matter where they try to run. Their last hope is an expert in the supernatural (Tom Felton), but even with his help they may already be too late to save themselves from this terrifying force…

And here’s the official one-sheet poster:
According to IMDB, the movie has a release date of August 24, 2012. As far as what I think of the actual film, it looks interesting enough, and seeing the trailer, there’s a little bit of the Paranormal Activity feel, dashed with some The Ring/The Grudge (did you see the black-haired woman crawling out of the dryer?!). Although I’m not big with Paranormal Activity, I did find The Ring and The Grudge pretty scary. Unfortunately, this doesn’t look like it will be original in its “scariness,” if you will, but I may go see it if there’s nothing else worthy enough to watch. I just hope it doesn’t turn out to be too hokey, what with Ashley Greene walking around in a skimpy little neglige to add to the cliche tactics in cheesy horror films.

(L. to R.) Ashley Greene, Sebastian Stan, and Tom Felton as Kelly, Ben, and Patrick respectively. Ashley and Sebastian play a couple haunted by an apparition (hence the title) that was conjured by a group of parapsychology students at a university. Patrick is the expert that tries to help them.
Will you be going out to watch this?
